ACCORDION BAND

For fun and fellowship through music on a unique instrument become a member of the Accordion Band.  This group of mostly beginners meets on Wednesdays, 3:00 – 4:00 PM in Music Room

Don't have an instrument?    We have a couple of beginner 12 bass instruments you may use while you are with the band.  Of special excitement is a full size 120 bass accordion recently donated to the church!  It's waiting for someone who has played before and the group would love to have you. Music is provided.

For more information, please contact Lee Irwin, 575-585-9079.

The Bells of Grace are a fun-loving group of volunteers of varying skill levels and ages who love the challenge of ringing hand bells.  We would love to have you join us.  Music reading is preferred but not mandatory.  We have several teachers who would love to share that knowledge with you.  Bells of Grace meets on Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Bell Room.

STEEL DRUMS

"Yah mon!!"    We have steel drums and we like to play them!  Never heard steel drums at a church before?  Here's your chance to learn some music, enjoy great company and experience the steel drums like never before.

Steel drum ensembles meet on Sunday afternoons in Disciples’ Hall 109.

Did you know?

The steel drum is believed to be the only non-electronic, acoustic musical instrument invented in the 20th century. The first steel drum or pan was invented around World War II in Trinidad, off the coast of Venezuela in South America.

Pans of Grace
1:00 - 2:15 PM on Sundays
Pans of Grace is an ensemble of experience steel drum performers who have learned a large repertoire of songs.  They play in church every few months, and are often found performing at various events around the community.  The group currently consists of seven players, and openings are rare. You must be an experienced steel drum performer and read music well.

Beginning Steel Drums

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM  on Sundays

We are starting a new steel drum group. Please let us know if you are interested.

The ability to read music is helpful but not required.

If you are interested in joining either of these groups contact Cheryl Dockray, 575-921-2236.        Also contact Cheryl to check about performing for your group or event.
